So today, I want to talk about… dieting.
It feels a little funny — almost like stepping into someone else’s shoes (maybe even a woman’s shoes 😅) But through this experience, I was reminded of just how important balance, habits, and a little high-and-low(or give-and-take) can be — not just for the body, but for the mind too 😌
The Turning Point
The turning point? Well, nothing dramatic — just the moment I realized I could no longer squeeze into my favorite pair of jeans 😵 I had sensed it for a while — “These are getting tighter…” or “Am I gaining weight?” — but I kept pretending not to notice 🙈🙊🙉
It all started in my early 30s. The lifestyle that had worked for me until then … just didn’t anymore. Any bit of indulgence or lack of care, and my belly would respond — loud and clear. Honestly, it was shocking 😱
I almost gave in with a sigh — “Well, I guess this is what aging looks like. Maybe I should just accept it”But when even everyday movements felt heavy, when my clothes didn’t fit and laziness took over — flopping on the couch, doing nothing — I realized:
“This can’t go on. I need to change ✊
What I Did
After some trial and error, I eventually settled on a weekly rhythm that worked for me. Here’s what a typical week looked like — this became my base, and I tweaked it depending on the situation.

So… How Did It Go?
The result?
I lost 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) over a year and a half!
That’s roughly 1 kilo per month — slow but steady. And years later, I’ve managed to keep it off. No rebound 👏

The Power of “High and Low”
Now, I’m not saying this approach will work for everyone — it just happened to be the right fit for me. But what I can confidently say is this: I learned some life-changing lessons.
The first two probably sound familiar. But that third one — High and Low — is what made the difference.
You need days of “High” — where you indulge, enjoy, and let loose a little. Without them, the whole thing feels like endless restriction. No fun = no habit.
And you also need days of “Low” — and honestly, without them, I don’t think I would’ve succeeded. Even when you think you’re being careful, your portions slowly creep up. We get used to more, and what once felt like enough no longer satisfies. That’s why “Low” days are essential. They let you pause, reset your habits, and check in with yourself — “Am I still on track?”
Less “Ugh, I Don’t Wanna…”
The effects? Pretty amazing. Now that I’ve succeeded, I feel the benefits every single day 😆
Losing about 15 kilograms has made my body feel noticeably lighter. Even simple daily movements — getting up, walking, going about my routine — feel smoother and easier. That “Ugh, I don’t feel like it” mindset? It’s almost gone. Instead, I find myself thinking,
“Okay, what do I want to do next?”
and living each day more actively and freely.
My body felt lighter. And strangely, my heart did too. There’s something deeply real about that mind-body connection — they truly are two sides of the same coin.
If you’ve been thinking about your weight lately, maybe this is your sign to give it a try 👍
There’s no need to push yourself too hard.
Just find a pace and method that suits you.
And if you keep at it and succeed…
You just might discover a whole new version of yourself 🪽
